FAQs & practical advice

Everything to know before your wall is printed.

Straight answers on planning, artwork, the day itself and looking after your wall afterwards.

Before we arrive

What the printer needs around your wall

The printer stands on the floor and runs on a frame in front of the wall. These clearances keep the result clean and the day smooth.

  1. Floor: keep 90 cm in front of the wall free of obstacles, and as level as possible.
  2. Ceiling: the ceiling within 90 cm of the wall must be free of lamps, beams and other obstacles.
  3. Print area: the wall surface itself should be free of obstacles such as shelves, frames, hooks and cables.
  4. Margins: at least 40 cm below the ceiling, 10 cm from each inner corner, and 25 cm above the floor or skirting board (30 cm when a rail is used).

The basics

How long does it take?

Most feature walls are printed in a single day. We print around 2 to 3 m² per hour at our standard quality, and the room can be used straight away because the ink is dry the moment it is printed.

Is it safe for nurseries and bedrooms?

Yes. We use a solvent-free, low-odour UV ink that cures instantly. There is no paste, glue or drying smell, so there is no need to air the room out for days.

Which images can you print?

Almost anything: your own photo, a logo, an illustration, a pattern or a design we create with you. We can even scan paper originals such as old maps, drawings or postcards and print them at wall size.

Which surfaces work?

Plaster, latex paint, concrete, brick, clinker, natural stone, wood, glass, metal, most tiles and even existing wallpaper. Textured surfaces with a relief of up to around 10 mm are usually fine. We always check your wall first.

How big can it be?

Up to 4 metres high and as wide as your wall. A small margin always stays unprinted: at least 40 cm below the ceiling, 10 cm from each inner corner and 25 cm above the floor or skirting board (30 cm with a rail). We plan the design around it.

How long will it last?

Indoors the colours stay stable for up to 12 years, depending on the surface, light and wear. Outdoors it lasts around 2 years, and often more than 5 with a clear UV protective coat.

Can it be removed or changed?

Yes. On most walls you simply paint over it with two or three coats. On glass it comes off with a scraper. Wood needs light sanding.

How do I get a price?

A wall print costs from €250 incl. VAT, including the first m². Every extra m² costs €80 incl. VAT. A white base coat on a dark or very absorbent wall, a mobile scaffold above about 4 metres, parking or extra travel time can add to the price. You always see that up front in your quote. Use our online designer for an instant indication, then book a date or a free consultation. You always receive a final quote after we have seen the wall, before anything is printed.

Planning your wall

How do I choose the right wall?

Pick the wall people see first or longest: behind a sofa or bed, opposite an entrance, along a corridor. A wall without sockets, switches or radiators gives the cleanest result, but we can print around them.

How do I measure my wall?

Measure width and height at a few points in centimetres and note any windows, doors or sockets. A photo taken straight on helps us a lot. We always check the measurements on site before printing.

Artwork & files

Which file should I send?

The larger the better. A high-resolution JPG, PNG, TIFF or PDF works, and vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) are ideal for logos. Phone photos are often fine for smaller walls. We check every file and tell you honestly if it will hold up at wall size.

Can I use an AI-generated image?

Yes. Many clients create their artwork with AI and we print it as-is or upscale it for the wall. Make sure you have the rights to use the image commercially if it is for a business.

On the day

How should I prepare the room?

Clear 90 cm in front of the wall, on the floor and at the ceiling, and remove frames, shelves and hooks. Fill large holes beforehand if you can. We bring everything else, and need one normal power socket nearby.

Do I need to be there?

Only at the start, to confirm the position, and at the end for the reveal. In between you can carry on as normal. The printer is quiet and there is no smell.

Care & aftercare

How do I clean it?

Use a soft cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and a little mild soap. Avoid abrasive pads and strong solvents. For high-traffic areas we can add a clear protective coat.

Can I hang things on it later?

Yes. You can drill and hang frames or shelves on a printed wall just like on a painted one. Small holes can be filled and touched up.

Still have a question?

Send us a photo of your wall and we will tell you what is possible.
